Recently, CBS Sports had a hypothetical trade proposal, sending Minnesota Vikings star wide receiver Justin Jefferson to the Las Vegas Raiders for a first and third round pick.
The proposal Jefferson will seek to leave Minnesota by the 2028 offseason. We asked our community members if they would be in favor of such a deal. The vast majority of our poll takers are not in favor of the deal.
It seems like the cost is too much for them and they’d rather the team build through the draft. I get it.
Jefferson,
who will be 28 next offseason, is playing on a four-year, $140 million contract that runs through 2028. Any deal would likely come with an adjusted contract for his new team. The Raiders will likely be giving tight end Brock Bowers a massive new deal next year and have other long-term deals. So, it would come at a price.
So, trading for Jefferson would be expensive in both terms of compensation sent to Minnesota and salary for the player.
