Barcelona boss Hansi Flick is known for being a stickler for punctuality and has already made that crystal clear to his players.
Jules Kounde, Inaki Pena, Marcus Rashford and Raphinha have all been left out of the German’s starting XI for being late to team meetings in the past.
Pedri and Ferran Torres have been on Spanish TV and have revealed how there’s been a bit of a change this season.
“Regarding punctuality, we have changed it a little. If you are late, you pay a fine,” said Pedri. It was then
revealed that the fine is “€40,000 for being 10 minutes late on a match day.”
Ferran went on to joke: “I can’t imagine how much money 20 minutes would be. You can now send him a photo of an ibuprofen!” He also joked that the new punishment “hurts more, I’ll tell you that much.”
Flick has previously explained why it’s so important for him for his players to be on time.
“[Being late] is a lack of respect, not for me but for his teammates, the institution, and the fans,” he said.
“It’s not that difficult to arrive on time, this can’t happen and it has happened.”
Yet it seems Flick’s stance may now be softening….a little at least.
