The Cleveland Browns need a lot of help, in Week 8 as well as the rest of the NFL season, in order to turn a horrible start into something much better. A win against the New England Patriots in Week 8 will take a lot, especially from the Browns struggling offense, but could also change the direction of the team at the NFL trade deadline.
With Cleveland’s bye week coming in Week 9, GM Andrew Berry will have more time to focus on what he wants to do with the Browns roster.
Injuries, as they always are,
have been a story for Cleveland, including this week. Thursday, the Browns injury report had three players not participating in practice:
- OL Ethan Pocic – Illness
- S Rayshawn Jenkins – Wrist, back
- DT Adin Huntington – Concussion
On Friday, all three returned to the practice field in preparation for the Patriots on the road this week.
Given the timing of the concussion protocol, it is unlikely that Huntington will be active on Sunday, and could be ruled out when the final injury report comes on Friday afternoon.
For New England, S Kyle Dugger was not seen at practice on Friday:
We noted that Dugger’s addition to the injury report on Thursday was notable. The veteran is listed as the Patriots backup safety and has only played in 44% of the team’s defensive snaps, along with 77 snaps on special teams.
We will have the official injury reports with game day designations for the Week 8 matchup when they are available on Friday afternoon.
