Only one player from the American Conference earned 2025 All-American honors from the Associated Press, and that’s No. 96 on the Navy Midshipmen.
Defensive tackle Landon Robinson warranted a spot on the First Team as one of the best defensive players in the country. Robinson is no stranger to appearing as a First Team All-American, as USA Today and Sports Illustrated also designated him as such in the past week. He was named Second Team All-American by Walter Camp Per Navy Athletics, Robinson is the first
Midshipmen player to earn a First Team nod by any outlet since Napoleon McCallum in 1985 and the first defensive player to do so since Chet Moeller in 1975.
It’s been a busy awards season for the senior, who claimed American Conference Defensive Player of the Year in the first week of December and earned his second-straight first team all-conference selection. Robinson was also one of seven semifinalists for the Outland Trophy, which recognizes the best offensive lineman/interior defensive lineman.
In his final year at Navy, Robinson produced 58 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery, with the upcoming Liberty Bowl against Cincinnati still on the docket. The star defensive tackle’s impact went well beyond the stat sheet as observers quickly recognized his athleticism and the attention he commands. Robinson is capable of squatting 700 pounds, benching 465, and he can clock over 20 miles per hour and vertical jump 33 inches — operating as one of the most well-rounded college football players through a 6’0”, 287 pound frame.
With Robinson playing a major role on defense, Navy is currently No. 22 in the AP Poll, with a chance to finish ranked for the first time since 2019 should the Midshipmen defeat the Bearcats on Jan. 2.
