According to a report by The Athletic’s German football correspondent Seb Stafford-Bloor, former Leicester City and England striker Jamie Vardy is now a live rights holder for the Bundesliga and he will start with Bayern Munich vs. Stuttgart later tonight:
Vardy joins That’s Football, hosted by Mark Goldbridge from The United Stand, in broadcasting the Bundesliga in a predominantly Premier League heavy landscape. Like the deal with That’s Football, this is another step in the Bundesliga’s marketing strategy by allowing two well-known figures in English football (on and off the pitch) to open the eyes of the British and Irish to Germany’s topflight.
Kevin Hatchard, one of the Bundesliga’s English feed commentators, had this to say about Vardy hosting live watchalongs of matches:
Since leaving Cremonese upon the expiry of his contract earlier this year, the 39-year-old striker launched his podcast called “Jamie Vardy’s Having A Party”. Vardy will stream Bayern’s league opener against Stuttgart along with former Leicester teammate Christian Fuchs. If you want to check that out, click here.
