In addition to the Cam Jurgens trade , the Philadelphia Eagles officially announced three transactions on Wednesday. Here’s an overview:
- RB Dameon Pierce was signed from the practice squad to the active roster.
- C James Brockermeyer was signed to the practice squad after visiting the team on Tuesday.
- WR Erik Ezukanma was signed to the practice squad.
We already touched on the Eagles calling up Pierce and the Eagles signing Brockermeyer. Those moves are now official.
The brand new information here is the Eagles bringing Ezukanma back into the fold. The 2022 fourth-round pick by the Miami Dolphins spent time on Philly’s offseason roster from mid-June until late August.
Ezukanma flashed at times during training camp
practices. He also logged four preseason receptions for 36 yards and a touchdown.
The Eagles currently have seven receivers on the roster: DeVonta Smith, Dontayvion Wicks, Darius Cooper, Makai Lemon, Britain Covey, Hollywood Brown, and Elijah Moore. Smith might miss a second straight game due to a hamstring injury while Brown could miss his third straight due to an ankle injury.
Prior to signing Ezukanma, the Eagles had one receiver on the practice squad: Xavier Gipson.
