I feel like it’s a bit silly to do monthly awards after just two games played, but here we are with the nominees announced for the Premier League’s August awards. And perhaps I shouldn’t complain, as we’ve got three nominees across three awards.
João Pedro and Cole Palmer both earned nominations for Premier League Player of the Month, while the new man in charge, Xabi Alonso earned a nomination for Manager of the Month. Palmer also got a nomination for Goal of the Month, for his effort against Brighton
& Hove Albion. I guess when you miss an absolute sitter from four yards out, you better make up for it with a Goal of the Month candidate!
