I said this in the match thread and I’ll say it again here: neither Tottenham Hotspur nor Manchester United had more than 1.0 xG despite the flurry of goals in the second half and the exciting finish.
So a 2-2 draw, while disappointing in the way it happened, feels pretty accurate. Neither team were especially GOOD in this match and there are still giant neon red flashing warning signs about both of these teams. So the irony is that a point still puts Tottenham into third place, at least for now, which illustrates the non-Arsenal parity in the league this season.
Anyway, I’m extremely Larry David GIF about this match. I wouldn’t say it was FUN, but at least we scored twice and didn’t lose at home, right?
It’s time to rate the players.
Rate the players from 1⁄2 to 5 stars. If the player doesn’t deserve a rating due to minutes played, DO NOT RANK. I will round the stars up/down to the nearest half-star for the player ratings later this week.
