According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Tom Silverstein, Green Bay Packers right tackle Zach Tom (knee) and safety Evan Williams (knee) didn’t appear to have as significant injuries as defensive
end Micah Parsons (knee) and receiver Christian Watson (chest). At least it wasn’t a squad wipe.
Per Silverstein, Tom doesn’t believe that there is “structural damage” to his knee. Tom left Sunday’s action against the Denver Broncos after 25 snaps and didn’t return to the field, leading to Darian Kinnard taking over as the team’s right tackle for the remainder of the game.
Williams also told Silverstein that he’s going to have tests run on his knee when the team gets back to Green Bay, but that he “didn’t feel as badly as when he missed four games in college.” When Williams dropped out, he was replaced by Zayne Anderson, usually a special teams contributor, which kept fellow safety Javon Bullard in the slot defender role.
Going into next week, you’re going to want to keep tabs on Watson, Tom, Parsons, Williams, tight end Josh Whyle — who suffered a concussion against Denver — and receiver Savion Williams — whose foot injury has kept him off the field for the last three weeks.
This is all coming around at the same time that the Packers will have to make serious decisions about their injury lists, too. Right now, the practice windows are open for running back MarShawn Lloyd, defensive end Brenton Cox Jr. and defensive end Collin Oliver. If they aren’t activated by December 21st, the day after Green Bay’s matchup against the Chicago Bears, these players will revert to injured reserve and remain there for the rest of the 2025 season.
Update:
Watson will be able to return with the rest of the team to Green Bay after being taken out of the stadium in an ambulance, another silver lining on this cloudy day.
