What is the story about?
Here’s
some more examples of CN photographer Stephen Bruce’s fine work from the previous two games. Yes, they were both heartbreaking losses, but Stephen continued his winning streak through his lens.
A couple of quick observations from someone who probably doesn’t even know enough about photography to call himself an amateur:
- I’m a big fan of the this year’s black jerseys with the red highlights – great look. But one thing I noticed is that when shot upward with the crowd in all black as their background, the players almost disappear at times except for the streaks of red. Sort of a cool effect.
- At Oregon, the black Ducks jerseys with green pants and the Huskers with red pants/white jerseys, really popped against each other. At the Big 10 Softball Tourney back in 2024, the semis were Nebraska v Indiana and Michigan v Wisconsin. I shared a worktable with two Big 10 photographers and asked who they were pulling for.
- They both said Michigan just to make the finals. Why? Because maize and blue on one of the teams would look far better in the photos than a match-up of two red and white teams. I find myself looking for that now.
