Kentucky Basketball finally got on the transfer portal board Wednesday with a commitment from Washington Huskies point guard Zoom Diallo.
Not only does that give the Wildcats their floor general for next season, but it ‘might’ help them in another high-profile recruitment.
You see, Diallo played high school basketball at Prolific Prep in California.
Among his teammates? None other than top-ranked class of 2026 recruit Tyran Stokes. The two played together for the 2023-24 season — along with projected
No. 1 overall NBA Draft pick AJ Dybantsa — before Diallo ended up at Washington, while Stokes later transferred to Notre Dame High School.
Could getting Diallo help Kentucky’s push for Diallo?
Well, it doesn’t appear to hurt them based on Stokes’ Instagram response to Diallo’s commitment post.
One thing is for sure: Recruiting should be getting easier now that Kentucky has PG1 secured for next season. Kansas should still be seen as the favorite for Stokes, but Kentucky’s pitch just got a lot more interesting.
