Sometimes it is important to remind yourself as a Barcelona fan that Pedri is not a La Masia product; he just looks and plays like one, but he was not brought up in the Blaugrana academy. Plenty of his
teammates have been, though, and one up-and-coming youngster is catching The Wizard’s eye.
In an interview on YouTube this week, Pedri was asked to name his favorite La Masia product currently, and he was quick to reveal the name Dro Fernández, who has been part of the first team squad all season and has already made three senior appearances at the age of 17, and grabbed an assist in his Champions League debut earlier in the campaign.
Pedri is impressed by Dro’s ability, and how easy the youngster makes things look.
“The one I like the most is Dro, he’s very good, he has a lot of quality and it seems like he doesn’t struggle with things.”
Dro has certainly shown a lot of promise despite limited playing time so far, and Hansi Flick will continue to look for the right time to give him more opportunities. And if Dro has the Pedri stamp of approval, it’s safe to say he’s a really good midfielder.
