Barcelona president Joan Laporta has offered yet another update on the Camp Nou amid more delays.
There’s still no clear date of when Barcelona will make their long-awaited return to their famous old home
after renovation work.
Indeed Barca have just confirmed their Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain will be played at Montjuic on October 1st.
Laporta was in Paris on Monday for the Ballon d’Or awards and dropped a fresh update when quizzed by reporters.
“We’re working on it. We depend on what the City Council says. But we’ve done the work: we have the final construction certificate, the construction control certificate, the fire department report, the environmental report... LaLiga and UEFA have said the field is ready to play, and we’re waiting for the initial occupancy permit.
“These are processes that have to be carried out, and we don’t want to put more pressure on it than necessary, but there comes a time when this is very close.
“We’ll see what the City Council officials say after their visits. We’re prepared for anything because we’ve done all the actions they’ve asked us to.”
