It was another weekend where the University of Miami proved once again, they are the best team in the state of Florida. Miami dominated Florida State 28 to 22, in a game where the score doesn’t indicate how much better Miami was than the Seminoles. The Cane stormed out to a 28 to 3 lead, then coasted the rest of the way in an easy victory to improve to 5-0. For the second consecutive season, Miami is the state champions of Florida and now moves on with bigger fish to fry in the ACC and the college
football playoffs. We will continue to rank the teams throughout the duration of the season, but Miami will remain number one, barring an absolute meltdown over the last seven weeks. For this week’s rankings, we’re going to have a little bit more fun than the traditional one through seven. Here are this week’s state of Florida college football rankings for week number six.
- Miami (5-0, 1-0) – The Canes have beaten all 4 Florida teams on their schedule and are one of the best teams in the country. Carson Beck threw 4TDs and no picks in a 28-22 win over FSU. Miami dominated for 3 quarters and was never challenged even though the score looked closer than the game actually was. The Canes garnered 42 pressures defensively and caused 4 FSU turnovers. Miami has a bye week and then it is 7 straight ACC games to finish the year. Next Game Friday October 17th vs Louisville
2. FSU 3-2 – Who cares, Miami owns the Noles
3. USF 4-1 – Miami routed USF 49-12
4. Florida 2-3 – Nice win against Texas…. offense looked good when not playing Miami.
5. UCF 3-2 – Had to go look at their score, but they lost again. They are probably happy they don’t play Miami.
6. FIU 2-3 – One day we will get some revenge for 2019.
7. FAU 2-3 – They lost to FIU, but at least they have a beach in the endzone.
