Bayern Munich all-purpose man Konrad Laimer does not sound like he traveled to Cyprus for a leisure trip.
The Austrian is all business ahead of Bayern Munich’s Champions League tilt with Pafos FC.
“We prepared
for Pafos like we would for any other team. We looked at their strengths and weaknesses. We saw a team that knows what they’re doing. We want to bring our intensity to the pitch so we can win the game and get three points in the end,” said Laimer (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “We prepared meticulously for our opponents, we observed every phase of their play. They’re a good team with good principles. If they’re given plenty of time and space, they can hurt us at any phase. We have to bring our performance to the pitch at all times, it’s the Champions League after all.
“It’s the Champions League. We’ve had enough time to prepare. But we’re focusing on ourselves; the most important thing is to bring our intensity onto the pitch, and then we’ll get the three points. Maybe the weather is a bit warmer here in Cyprus than at home, but that’s not a problem.”
Laimer was also asked about the team’s red-hot form and Harry Kane’s impeccable form.
“There’s not much to complain about when you’ve won eight out of eight games. Everyone would have signed that before the start of the season. It’s fun to play football like that. And of course we want to continue that way,” said Laimer. “He’s incredible, he’s scored 100 goals with almost the same number of games. It’s impressive when you see how he works, the work he puts in behind the scenes – it’s great to see someone achieve that level of success. Harry is outstanding as a guy and outstanding as a footballer, and he should keep it up.”
