The world of college recruiting is a non-stop cycle. Moves are always being made behind the scenes to reach out to recruits and sway their opinions. Recently, Rutgers offered two quarterbacks in the 2027
class with the hopes that they will suit up for the Scarlet Knights one day.
One of the recruits that was offered recently was Jake Nawrot out of John Hersey High School in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Nawrot is listed at 6-foot-4, 190 pounds, and is rated the No.25 quarterback in the 2027 class according to the 247sports composite and is graded as the 11th best player in Illinois. He finished his junior season going 187 of 263 passing for 3,078 yards with 41 TD and 2 INT. He also ran the ball 30 times for 124 yards and 8 touchdowns. He earned All-State recognition from the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association in the process. He has received offers from eight other Power Five programs.
He also plays basketball for John Hersey.
The second quarterback who was offered recently was Israel Abrams from Montini Catholic in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Abrams is listed at 6-foot-4, 187 pounds, and is rated as the No.5 quarterback by the 247sports composite and the No.5 player in Illinois. As a junior, Abrams led Illinois in passing with 4,072 yards through the air, along with 40 passing touchdowns. He averaged over 290 yards a game. Abrams also recorded 10 rushing touchdowns as well, totaling 50 overall touchdowns on the season.
Abrams has earned offers from schools like Indiana and Ole Miss, along with a bunch of other schools at the Power Four level.
Nawrot is a high three-star while Abrams is a four-star, according to the composite. Both met with offensive coordinator Kirk Ciarrocca during his trip out to Illinois and received their offer from the Rutgers coach in person.
