A heavyweight clash against Arsenal in the Champions League, injuries, a familial loss, Vincent Kompany’s shock hospitalization, and a difficult Bundesliga fixture against SC Freiburg meant Bayern Munich endured a chaotic week.
However, in the midst of the chaos, Bayern persevered.
After his side’s 3-1 victory against Freiburg, Konrad Laimer shared a heartwarming message to the coaching staff and players, revealing what makes Bayern such a unique team.
“It’s been a very, very intense week for us, given
everything that’s happened,” said Laimer (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “We simply wanted to stand together as a team. We, as FC Bayern, stand united.”
The Austrian international went on to praise the coaching staff in Kompany’s absence, as well as his fellow teammates.
“The coaching team and the entire staff have done an outstanding job throughout the week, and I want to pay them a huge compliment for that. On behalf of the team, I’d also like to say a very big thank you to everyone involved. I hope everyone takes the time they need and gets whatever time is necessary. We’ll be happy when we’re all back together again. We stand together, we stay together, and we simply continue on our path.”
The way the team has rallied behind each other is a reminder of what Bayern is all about. It’s more than football; it’s family.
