I think I’m going to keep publishing these results on Sunday.
Why?
Because college football is so damn wacky, I like to be talking about the poll results after the weekend games have been played.
This week, the Husker question was for you to choose which area of their 2026 game is your favorite or that you think is working best. You can see the four choices below, but there was also a fifth one – the defensive line. The only problem was that a choice has to receive a single vote in order to make the graphic
with the results. The D-line did not.
But I can’t help but wonder if we revoted today if they would make the board at least. They held North Dakota to under 100 yards rushing and tallied 5 sacks plus an additional 6 Quarterback Hits. Might’ve gotten the big ‘uns at least a little bit of love this morning.
In addition, I included several national and team polls from other schools. Each should be pretty obvious as to the reason why. Enjoy!
- Anthony Colandrea and the Three-Backs – Rule, Nelson and Mozee – tied at 32% each and I think all would remain there after the UND game.
- 23% have spotted the Hog Mollies opening some pretty big holes in non-conference play. The transfers and new O-Line Coach Geep Wade have made their presence felt quickly.
- 14% liked the new lack of confusion-time outs or due to trouble getting plays & players in quickly enough. That didn’t age particularly well as a few of those exact kind were called on Saturday. Let’s hope things return to normal in East Lansing.
And Now Some Fun Nationally
- All remain undefeated, and most believe in Notre Dame and the combination of the Domers’ soft schedule and baby revenge rage after not getting what they wanted in the 2025 post-season for the first time ever.

- Both the national and LSU crowds thought the Tigers would go on the road and take the Kiffin Bowl. Both groups were incorrect. Instead, the party is still probably going in dark corners of Oxford, Mississippi where the rest of the populace is likely holding their heads and/or painfully dry-heaving particles of whatever they drank and probably ate in the wee hours. We’re probably talking a few broken ribs.
- Nebraska’s first Big 10 & road opponent next week hung with the Domers into the 4th quarter, but when the fat lady sang, 55% of Sparty fans had voted correctly as Notre Shame pulled away for a 27-10 victory.
- And here is our winner of this week’s “I Bet It Would Turn Out Different If We Voted Again Today” trophy. 60% of Iowa’s Dirt of the Earth fan base said their season outlook remained unchanged. However, the votes were counted when the expectations were still 9-10 wins with the Squawks being dark horse candidates for the CFP
- The percentages might change a little after they had to come from behind for a stinky 16-13 win over Iowa State – a team which lost 55 players to the portal following Matt Caampbell’s late defection to Penn State.
- Finally, there’s Oregon. The team “with so much more talent” is finding Ducks fans have severely changed their expectations after the team was dominated yardage-wise in losing 39-31 to the rebuilt Oklahoma State Cowboys who finished 1-11 last season.
- Perhaps just as embarrassing was hurrying up to stick one more TD in on hapless FCS Portland State yesterday with 0:29 left to run the score up to the final of 84-0.
- I have no beef with the Ducks at all. But…dude.
