After dismantling Texas A&M a week ago, LSU dropped a spot in the AP Poll to #11, which is where they were in the Coaches Poll. It was odd, considering how dominant they looked against the Aggies.
This week, following a 63-14 throttling of McNeese, the Tigers moved up a spot to #10 in both polls.
Florida was the team that jumped LSU in each poll last week after their dominant victory over Ole Miss, but the Gators had a hangover and got obliterated at Missouri 45-17. They, obviously, dropped significantly,
opening up an extra spot in the top-10 for Lane Kiffin’s squad.
LSU’s next opponent will be Kentucky at Kroger Field on Saturday, October 10th. The Wildcats are coming off of a comeback victory in which they were down 17-0 to South Carolina. New head coach, Will Stein, chose to go for a 2-point conversion after scoring second in the first overtime, sealing the biggest road comeback in Kentucky history with a final score of 35-34.
It’ll be a top-25 matchup according to the Coaches Poll, where the Wildcats find themselves ranked #25. They barely missed out on being ranked in the AP Poll, finishing just 2 votes short in the #26 spot, after inexplicably dropping two spots following their road SEC win.
LSU and Kentucky will kickoff at 6:00 pm central on ESPN.
