Texas women’s basketball star Madison Booker has been a name to watch among award-winners and finalists this season. Not only was she named among the first-team Associated Press All-American. She’s also been named among this year’s finalist for the latest Wooden Award, which is given to the sport’s top player each season.
Here’s how 247Sports broke it down:
“Booker, who has also been named one of 10 Wooden All-Americans, scored a team-leading 19 points in the Longhorns’ 77-41 Elite Eight win over Michigan
on Monday and is averaging 22.5 points, 8.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.8 steals in four NCAA Tournament victories. Booker, the MVP of the SEC Tournament after scoring a team-leading 18 points in a 78-61 rout of South Carolina in the championship game, was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Fort Worth 3 Regional.”
