Here we go. Today could very well be the last day of the Yankees’ season, the start of an epic comeback, or one last dying gasp. Carlos Rodón holds the team’s hopes and dreams in his hands as he’ll take
the mound tonight looking to be the first starting pitcher to survive the Blue Jays’ lineup in this series, as Luis Gil got knocked out early and Max Fried probably should have left earlier than he did. We’ll also see if the offense found a spark getting into the low leverage relievers the Jays rolled out when the game was out of reach, or if we’ll be in for more frustrating at-bats. It’s do or die, for the second time this year — let’s see which one they end up with.
Before tonight’s action gets underway, let’s run through what we’ve got prepared. Nick leads us off with a look at Toronto’s Game 3 starter Shane Bieber and how the Yankees should attack him, and then Matt goes over the results from the NL field last night. Peter gives us the Sequence of the Week with a lens put on Cam Schlittler’s dominant Game 3 start, and Jeff covers the 2000 Yankees getting pushed to Game 5 in their ALDS matchup against Oakland.
