The Syracuse Orange will have several key players that we’ll be watching for in warmups to see if they will be in the line-up against Duke.
One veteran linebacker will be missing as Derek McDonald, who was named a semi-finalist for the Campbell Award this week, is listed as out. Along with Steve Angeli, that makes two Syracuse veterans out, but several others find themselves listed as questionable on the availability report.
Both Trevion Mack and Devin Grant played last week at Clemson after having missed time, so hopefully they will be good to go again tomorrow. Johntay Cook had his best game of the season with 6 catches for 113 yards and his loss would certainly impact the offense as Rickie Collins prepares for his start.
Safety Duce Chestnut played a handful of snaps last week, so we’ll see if the veteran is back to face Duke’s high-powered passing attack and Tank Wilson’s status would impact the defensive tackle rotation. Last week it was Rashard Perry stepping up in Wilson’s absence, but the Orange would like to have as many players ready to go as they face a strong Blue Devils offense.
We’ll be watching warmups tomorrow to see what updates we get on these players as Syracuse looks to go 4-1 on the season.
