Indiana football is in the mix for several in-state talents in the class of 2027, and one of the top prospects just announced that the Hoosiers are in his top six.
Kaleb Elkins, a safety out of Warren Central High School in Indianapolis, is down to one of Indiana, Ohio State, Missouri, Vanderbilt, Tennessee and Oregon, per Hayes Fawcett of On3/Rivals. A 4-star prospect, he ranks in as the 28th highest-rated safety, 339th highest-rated prospect overall and the fifth highest-rated prospect in the state
of Indiana.
Elkins would be the second safety to commit to join the Hoosiers in 2027, joining 3-star Garyon Hobbs in Indiana’s secondary, a position group that proved integral to the program’s historic 2025 season. He’d be the second in-state prospect to join the class, joining 3-star offensive lineman Jeremiah Jones. Other notable in-state prospects include top wide receiver Monshun Sales and 4-star offensive lineman Mason McDermott.
