A new angle of the Khamzat Chimaev and Ian Machado Garry altercation just dropped.
Last month, at UFC Qatar, Chimaev and Garry grabbed headlines when they got into a brief altercation backstage after the event.
Chimaev was at UFC Qatar supporting his friend Arman Tsarukyan. After Tsarukyan’s win in the main event, Garry came over to congratulate him. While there, he and Chimaev appeared to exchange a cordial greeting, but then Chimaev shoved the welterweight contender.
After the incident, Garry said he was just saying hi to the middleweight champion, and called Chimaev’s behavior “childish.” In contrast, Chimaev claimed that Garry initiated the incident by repeatedly tapping him in the back, and a new video released by Arman Tsarukyan shows what Chimavev was talking about.
In the clip, you can see Garry slap Chimaev firmly on the back several times, before stepping away. Chimaev then shoves Garry a few moments later.
