According to a report from Sport Bild (as captured by BuLiNews.com), former Bayern Munich head coach Niko Kovač is set to extend his contract at Borussia Dortmund through 2029:
Borussia Dortmund are reportedly on the verge of extending the contract of another key figure in the form of Niko Kovač.
After club chiefs Carsten Cramer, Lars Ricken, and Thomas Treß had already signed new deals, only the BVB head coach remains.
According to Sports BILD’s sources, the Croatian tactician has already reached an agreement
with Borussia Dortmund.
The contract, currently valid until 2027, will reportedly be extended until the summer 2029, with “only the signature missing.”
Kovač has made a strong impression at Borussia Dortmund in the win column, but has not always pleased fans because his brand of football lacks aesthetic value. However, given how desperate BVB was to improve its mentality and work ethic, Kovač has lived up to the hype by helping the squad improve in those areas, while also stockpiling wins.
Kovač might not be the coach that Borussia Dortmund fans want, but he might just be the manager that the club needs at this moment.
