Joe Rogan has seen a lot of things throughout his years around combat sports, but the UFC color commentator was left in shock after learning of legendary arm wrestler Devon Larratt’s daily workout routine.
Larratt, who turned 51 this past April, is widely regarded as one of the best arm wrestlers of all time. The former Canadian armed forces member is still competing to this day and is still recognized as a top name in the sport. In fact, Larratt just captured a dominant win at “East vs. West 23”
this past April (watch HERE). Larratt is also credited for helping to popularize the sport of arm wrestling with a large following on social media.
Of course, staying at the top is not easy for anyone, especially an aging 51-year-old like Larratt. In order to keep himself in tip-top shape for the best arm wrestling competition in the world, Larratt endures a shocking 10 hours of wrist curls each and every day. If that sounds crazy it’s because it is. That’s probably why Rogan was in awe after Larratt explained his methods.

“The hardest thing to be a world champion at 51 is to put all of your energy into something so simple,” Larratt told Rogan during a recent episode of his Joe Rogan Experience podcast. “This is the most difficult piece is the psychological dedication to do 10 hours of wrist curls in a day.”
“You do 10 hours of wrist curls in a day?” asked Rogan. “You don’t do any wrist curls with your left hand?”
“I’m going back to pumpkin training, which is right hand only,” responded Larratt. “I try to put everything into the right. This is specialization.”
“You don’t do wrist curls or anything with your left hand?” asked Rogan.
“Nothing,” said Larratt. “I think there’s a finite amount of energy we have. If I tell my body that my energy goes here more of it will go there. And more development will happen.”
