Konrad Laimer at left-back. New signing Tom Bischof getting called up to fill in for a recently ill Joshua Kimmich at the No. 6. Nothing seems to faze Bayern Munich these days.
The Bavarians have won five
Bundesliga games on the trot and are undefeated and untied in the 2025/26 campaign so far. What’s Vincent Kompany’s secret sauce?
“I’m now in my second season here. Things are different to what they were in the first few months last season,” Kompany explained in post-match comments captured by @iMiaSanMia. “It’s no longer about the basics because now they understand and know them. We can now focus on the details. When a player has to play in another position or another role, they immediately understand it because we’ve been working together for 16 months.”
The scary thing is? This isn’t even their final form. Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies, and more are working their way towards injury return. At this point in the season, five games in, the rest of the league does not look like they stand a chance.
Bayern Munich was the home side in the Bundesliga on Friday when Werder Bremen came to town.
The Bavarians decimated the visitors 4-0 in a game that was never really close. Bayern Munich was relentless and dominant in every aspect of the match. It is not as if Werder Bremen did not try, but the players just could not match up with the machine that was Bayern Munich.
Let’s get into all of the details — here is what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Postgame Show:
- A look at the starting XI — Tom Bischof and Leon Goretzka got the nod in the central midfield because Joshua Kimmich was sick.
- A rundown of the scoring and substitutions.
