It’s mid-December, and we’ve finally received our first big piece of transfer news for the Colorado Buffaloes. Defensive tackle Jehiem Oatis intends to enter the portal following this season, as reported by ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
Oatis came to Colorado prior to the 2025 season, following three successful campaigns with the Alabama Crimson Tide. During his time in Alabama, Oatis was a regular role player with the Tide, totaling 57 tackles, five pass deflections and 1.5 sacks.
Upon coming to Boulder, Oatis
was praised as one of CU’s biggest portal additions and a surefire role player within the trenches. Unfortunately, that’s not exactly how things played out, as the Alabama transfer played a diminished role for the first half of the season, seeing limited playtime.
Following injuries, Oatis was thrust into an increased role for Colorado later in the year and played well down the stretch. At the conclusion of his sole season in Colorado, Oatis recorded nine tackles and a pass deflection. Now, he’ll look to take his talents elsewhere with one season of eligibility remaining.
