Barcelona look set to have Hansi Flick available on the bench for Thursday’s Champions League clash against Newcastle after the club successfully appealed his sanction.
Flick was slapped with a one-match ban by UEFA and fined €20,000 for his behaviour after last season’s Champions League defeat to Inter.
According to multiple reports, Barca have succesfully appealed the ban and it’s been partially upheld, allowing Flick to sit on the bench on Thursday night at St James’ Park.
Yet Flick will remain on
probation for another year. If he reoffends during that time he will be hit with a fresh sanction as well as the suspended sentence.
The news is a good boost for Barcelona ahead of a tricky away tie at Newcastle.
Yet the Magpies have problems of their own with summer signings Yoane Wissa and Jacob Ramsey ruled out of the game through injury.
