The offense did enough to win today, and finally had some timely hits for once, but the story of today’s game was Tanner Bibee and the bullpen. The K/BB ratio wasn’t pretty for Bibee, but you can never complain about 6.2 innings of one run ball. Outside of the select flew blow ups he’s had this season, he consistently goes deep into games and gives the Guardians a good chance to win, despite what his win/loss record says.
The theme of today’s game was timely hitting. Gabriel Arias and Brayan Rocchio
both had multi hit games, but it was Steven Kwan and Patrick Bailey with a pair of 2 RBI doubles that won this game for Cleveland offensively. The Guardians catching duo, while not known for their hitting, have actually been hitting the ball very well over the last month or two. That’s something you just love to see.
The Guardians will try and go for the sweep tomorrow at 1:40 pm ET. It will be Joey Cantillo vs Tyler Phillips.
