Kickoff for the Kentucky Wildcats is now only two days away, as the Cats get prepared to welcome the Toledo Rockets to Kroger Field.
This offseason has been a quiet yet somewhat bumpy one for the program as they added 50 players to the roster, completing a complete roster overhaul. The problem with that, paired with silence, is that now no one knows what to expect when the team takes the field on Saturday.
However, the numbers seem to think the Cats will be one of the most talented teams in the country.
On Tuesday, the 247 Sports Team Talent Composite rankings dropped, ranking the teams across the country on points from a roster talent perspective.
Maybe shocking to most, Kentucky debuted at No. 27 in the country.
The downside? They are ranked 15th among SEC teams, with only Vanderbilt behind them at No. 55.
This has been the same story for UK throughout its most recent string of success on the football field. They have taken it to new heights, but from a talent side, they still have their backs against the wall.
Where is the plus in that? Mark Stoops and his teams have always performed their best when they have to come out swinging.
This season may not be set up for a 10-win year, but some early victories this season could help this team really showcase the talent they do have for the entirety of the 2025 season.
