The Denver Broncos play football tonight.
Albeit a preseason game that quarterback Bo Nix will not play in, but still. Broncos football is back.
As the 2026 regular season fast approaches, Denver has a legitimate shot at the Super Bowl this season. The Broncos return a near-complete roster that was a Nix injury away from playing in the Super Bowl. Plus, Nix finally has his offensive weapon with Jaylen Waddle in the mix. And over the course of training camp, Pat Bryant is making the push to be the No.
3 receiver in the offense.
Now that the preseason has started, Denver is getting some serious respect. In a preseason power rankings at the NFL website, the Broncos come in at No. 2. The Los Angeles Rams are No. 1. After Denver, it’s the Seattle Seahawks, Philadelphia Eagles, and Buffalo Bills.
Here’s what was said about Denver:
“Theoretically, the team that finished 14-3 last season should be even better. The Broncos have enjoyed an ideally quiet camp, are led by a veteran coach with a history of high-level success, welcomed their quarterback back into the fold after his injury-related exit in January, and are hoping J.K. Dobbins can fulfill his sky-high promises (including completing a full season).
“They also have five 2025 playoff qualifiers on their schedule in the first six weeks of the season. Right now, they’re one of the elite contenders. They’ll hope the same is true by the time winter arrives.”
The key to the Broncos’ season is the first six weeks. If they come out of that brutal stretch .500 or better, watch out.
