Rocket Ritarita quickly became a household name in college soccer after a standout freshman campaign last season. Now, the Maryland men’s soccer forward will represent his country on the international stage.
Ritarita was selected to the Philippines’ 2026 ASEAN Hyundai Cup squad, marking his first tournament appearance with the senior national team.
The 19-year-old’s call-up comes months after helping the Terps make a deep postseason run. Ritarita bagged four goals and six assists off the bench throughout the year, including a brace during Maryland’s 3-0 NCAA Tournament third round victory. The budding star earned Big Ten All-Freshman team honors.
With the departures of the Terps’ starting wingers, Ritarita appears poised for a breakout sophomore season. But his focus remains on leading the Philippines to an ASEAN Hyundai Cup title. That quest begins on July 28 against Myanmar.
