Let me start by saying that if you didn’t watch this game and are planning on going back to watch it, just skip straight to the fourth quarter. The first three quarters looked like the first four games.
The Tennessee Titans kept finding ways to do dumb stuff to shoot themselves in the foot. I had already sat down to say I was running out of adjectives to describe how bad this team is.
Then, something almost too crazy to describe happened. It started when Arizona Cardinals running back Emari Demercado broke off what looked like a 71-yard touchdown run. To L’Jarius Sneed’s credit, he hustled all the way down the field. I don’t know if Snead got the ball, but Demercado dropped the ball before he crossed the goal line. It went out of the back of the end zone for a touchback.
Things got even crazier from there. The Titans go down and score to cut it to 21-12. Brian Callahan elected to kick the extra point, which Joey Slye missed. The Titans then forced a three and out. Cam Ward got a ball tipped that was picked off by Dadrion Taylor-Demerson who fumbled the ball into the end zone. It was recovered by Tyler Lockett for a touchdown.
The Titans then got another stop. Ward led a 71-yard drive that set up the game winning field goal. That fourth quarter is something that Ward can really start to build on. He has his defining moment.
Much more on this game later.
