Khaos Williams returned to the welterweight win column earlier tonight (Sat., May 16, 2026) at UFC Vegas 117 LIVE on Paramount+ from inside Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, putting a violent stop to Nikolay Veretennikov with a first-round TKO (punches).
This fight had UFC gamblers drooling as Williams entered the contest a very small favorite. Veretennikov hasn’t looked great over the course of his UFC career and he posed zero threat to take the fight to the ground. Most figured that would give Khaos
the opportunity to unleash his heavy hands early on and find a quick finish.
That’s exactly what happened a little over half way through the first round. Williams landed heavy punches along the cage during an offensive flurry that sent Veretennikov crashing to the canvas. Williams followed up with smashing ground-and-pound before referee Chris Tognoni stepped in for the stoppage.
