The Carolina Panthers front office is busy throughout the season with transactions, roster moves, and injury updates. Here’s what’s happening at Mint Street this week.
Transactions
Signed CB Marco Wilson to the practice squad
While few practice squad signings end up having a significant impact on the 53-man roster, the addition of Marco Wilson is one to watch. This is a guy who has started 37 of 64 career games with 179 tackles, three interceptions, and 20 passes defended in his career.
Wilson was a fourth round
pick in 2021 by the Arizona Cardinals. He won the starting corner job as a rookie and over the next three seasons with the Cardinals he started 37 of 43 games. But he was released near the end of his 2023 season, signed with the New England Patriots, and has bounced around since then. He spent 2025 with the Cincinnati Bengals appearing in four games with three tackles before hitting the injured reserve with a hamstring injury.
Now, I’m not saying Marco Wilson is the immediate answer to fill in for Jaycee Horn or Mike Jackson. However, the Panthers did well to kick the tires on a 27-year-old corner with 37 career starts. There’s no downside. If he doesn’t work out, then fine. But if he ends up providing some situational depth on the 53-man roster down the road, then this could end up being a very shrewd signing.
Signed OLB Nick Hampton to the practice squad
Hampton was a fifth-round pick by the Los Angeles Rams in the 2023 draft. In three seasons with the Rams he appeared in 36 games with 17 total tackles. He recorded three playoff tackles last year for the Rams. During his time in Los Angeles he played 188 defensive snaps and 510 on special teams, giving the 26-year-old a decent amount of seasoning. He originally signed with the Panthers in March 2026, got waived during the preseason, and is now back on the practice squad.
Waived RB/KR Tre Tyus then re-signed him to the practice squad
Tre Tyus continues to be the Panthers ping pong ball this year. He was signed to a futures contract in January 2026, was waived in August during final roster cuts, and has then bounced around between being waived, signed to the practice squad, or elevated to the 53-man roster at any given time.
Tyus has appeared in two games for the Panthers this year, playing two offensive snaps and 32 on special teams. He has returned five kickoffs for the Panthers this season with a solid 25.4 yard average per return.
Released OLB Jeremiah Moon, CB Robert Rochell, and OL Isaia Glass from the practice squad
Jeremiah Moon seems to get waived, re-signed, or elevated to the 53-man roster on a near weekly basis. In two games with the Panthers this year he has played 41 defensive snaps and 19 on special teams with seven tackles and a pass defended.
Robert Rochell, a six-year NFL veteran, played in four games for the Panthers last year and has one appearance in 2026 with one tackle. He’s another yo-yo player who regularly gets released and re-signed to the practice squad.
Isaia Glass was one of the Panthers undrafted rookie free agents this year and is also living the unstable life of getting repeatedly released from then re-signed to the practice squad.
