What is the story about?
WWE
is traveling to Saudi Arabia for its Crown Jewel premium live event this weekend, which means they had to do a double taping in Brooklyn this evening. Monday Night Raw was live on Netflix but Friday Night SmackDown was taped immediately after.
Here, then, are some spoilers from PW Insider and various social media postings:
- GUNTHER opened the show in street clothes to say he wasn’t scared on the Halloween show but rather he was doing everyone a favor taking out the freak show. He challenged Finn Balor, who came out and said The Demon is just waiting to come out. They brawled until GUNTHER bailed.
- Shinsuke Nakamura def. Tama Tonga.
- No finish to B-Fab & Michin vs. Fatal Influence, with Tatum Paxley showing up to hit a body press on Jade Cargill and a big brawl breaking out. Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss got involved and the babyfaces stood tall.
- SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis told Women’s Champion Chelsea Green he respects her for what she’s done and is proud she represents the blue brand. She got vulnerable and said she’s taking Liv Morgan’s words to heart. She wonders if she deserves to be champion sometimes. Aldis encouraged her, as did the fans. Morgan came out and kept running her down, saying much of the same thing she has been.
- Trick Williams interviewed and he’s now got his sights set on Damian Priest.
- Priest def. Nathan Frazer because the latter couldn’t continue after going through the announcer desk. Axiom, too, was taken out when he showed up.
- WWE Champion Sami Zayn got a promo saying once more that he’s tired of being overlooked and it won’t happen again. Jimmy Uso showed up to question him about his attack on Roman Reigns on Raw after he was already beat down by The 946. They used to be boys, why do that? Zayn thought Jimmy of all people would understand, but Big Jim told him he’s got The Tribal Chief’s full attention now and it means he’s going to get his ass whooped. Zayn is just happy to get the attention he deserves and he’ll take what comes next. They ended it with The 946 attacking Jimmy and Sami watching from the apron, not doing anything to stop it.
- Kevin Owens and CM Punk had their No Holds Barred match and it was apparently every bit the gimmick match it was set up to be, with plenty of furniture involved. A steel chain was included in that, and it was that weapon Owens used to help him score the pin after what sounds like a wild back-and-forth battle.
