The Chargers may have found their next “Harbaugh Guy.”
Per NFL insider Tom Pelissero, the Bolts are signing former Ravens tight end Charlie Kolar to a three-year, $24.3 million deal that makes him the highest-paid blocking tight end in the league.
Jim Harbaugh giving out the biggest blocking tight end contract in the league should come as no surprise to anyone as the 6’6, 265-pound Kolar is just as much of a weapon in his eyes as someone like wide receiver Ladd McConkey or running back Omarion Hampton.
In 2025, Kolar played a career-high 402 snaps on offense and finished with a career-best 71.5 run block grade by Pro Football Focus. That number has steadily improved from the previous two seasons with a 54.9 in 2023 and a 62.5 in 2024.
As a receiver, Kolar also recorded career highs across the board in 2025 with 10 receptions for 142 yards and two touchdowns. He was highly efficient as well with nine of his 10 receptions going for first downs.
