The Georgia Bulldogs enter the 2026 season as the favorite to win the SEC.
After finishing the 2025 season 12-2 overall (7-1 SEC), Georgia captured its second consecutive SEC championship with a dominant 28-7 victory over Alabama. With Kirby Smart entering another season at the helm, the Bulldogs will look to build on their recent dominance and make it three straight SEC championships. Can Georgia remain on top of the conference, or will a rising contender finally knock the Bulldogs off their throne?
The LSU Tigers come roaring into the 2026 season rounding out the top 5 of the SEC championship odds with plenty of optimism following the hiring of new head coach Lane Kiffin. LSU finished the 2025 season 7-6 overall (3-5 SEC), but Kiffin’s arrival has raised expectations in Baton Rouge. With a highly regarded transfer class and a proven offensive mind now leading the program, the Tigers have the talent to make a serious run at the SEC championship. Can Kiffin turn LSU around in his first season and lead the Tigers past Georgia and the rest of the SEC, or will the pressure to win immediately prove too much in Baton Rouge?
The Ole Miss Rebels went 13-2 overall (7-1 SEC) in 2025 before advancing to the CFP, where they reached the national semifinals. However, the Rebels will enter 2026 facing a major change at the top. With Kiffin now at LSU, former defensive coordinator Pete Golding has taken over as head coach. Under Golding leadership, Ole Miss will look to prove that last season’s success was more than just a product of Kiffin’s system. Are the Rebels this year’s dark horse to remain among the SEC’s elite and make another run at the conference championship, or will the coaching change and tougher competition keep them in the middle of the pack?
The Arkansas Razorbacks come into the 2026 season as the biggest long shot to win the SEC. After finishing the 2025 season 2-10 overall and (0-8 SEC), Arkansas has plenty of work to do to turn the program around. The Razorbacks will begin a new era under head coach Ryan Silverfield, who takes over after six successful seasons at Memphis. With a new coach and a fresh start, Arkansas will look to put last season behind them and become more competitive in the SEC. However, with some of the toughest teams in the conference on the schedule, they face an uphill battle.
