The holidays meant there was no new poll last week, and this week there is not a lot of change due to many teams not playing a lot. As a result, Purdue sits at No. 5 this week once again as we move into the New Year. The most notable change is Michigan gained on Arizona and is just behind hte Wildcats by a single vote for No. 1. The Wolverines have been crushing everything in their path so far and look virtually unstoppable.
Also, Nebraska is now a top 10 basketball program when Indiana is ranked
No. 1 and a national title favorite in football.
It’s bizarro 1987 around here.
The improvement of Iowa and Nebraska will make a rough Big Ten race even tougher, especially when Purdue has to play the Hawkeyes twice.
