The Wisconsin Badgers are taking on the Central Michigan Chippewas on Monday, looking to bounce back after back-to-back losses to the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Villanova Wildcats.
Wisconsin had only one
game last week, facing Villanova on Friday at Fiserv Forum, where they lost 76-66 in overtime.
The Badgers had an absymal first half in a low-paced game before mounting a strong comeback in the second half. But, they went completely cold in overtime, leading to their second straight loss, falling to 7-4 on the season.
Before that, Wisconsin faced Nebraska on the road the week before, coming in as slight underdogs to the No. 23 team in the country. While the game was competitive for much of the first half, the Badgers gave up an ugly 10-0 run to end the period, falling behind by 16 at halftime. Then, they weren’t competitive at all in the second half, marking the worst loss of the Greg Gard era.
On Monday, Wisconsin faces a Central Michigan team that has started 4-8 this season, including 0-6 on the road. That includes losses to Northern Illinois, Stony Brook, Saint Louis, Loyola Chicago, Marquette, and others.
They’ve averaged only 73.4 points a contest, while allowing 77.1 a game. So, it’s no surprise that the Badgers are pretty heavy favorites.
