Bayern Munich are keeping their eyes out for defensive options, it’s no secret. Die Rekordmeister has already been linked with several big names including Manchester City’s Joško Gvardiol, Benfica’s Tomás Araújo, and Tottenham’s Luka Vušković.
However, there is another option that Bayern may yet explore, and the player is reportedly keen for Munich.
According to reports from Italian newspaper, La Gazzetta dello Sport (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Yann Aurel Bisseck would be “particularly keen” on a move
to Bayern should the German side’s interest become concrete.
Yann Aurel Bisseck is particularly keen on returning to Germany and playing for Bayern if their interest were to materialize. Inter value him highly, but are ready to listen to offers to raise funds for other deals. Asking price: up to €40m.
Inter Milan’s Bisseck is an interesting prospect for Bayern. Physically dominant, composure on the ball, and an aerial threat, the 25-year-old center-back suits Vincent Kompany’s system to a tee — and most importantly, at €40m won’t break the bank.
Bayern may have Bisseck on their shortlist, but a transfer is unlikely. Kompany already has five center-backs to choose from: Dayot Upamecano, Jonathan Tah, Kim Min-jae, Hiroki Ito, and the chronically injured Tarek Buchmann. Josip Stanišić can also deputize in central defense.
The depth in central defense makes Bisseck’s transfer improbable, but he remains an interesting option, especially if Min-jae or Ito depart in the summer.
