The Cleveland Browns appeared to be ready to welcome right tackle Jack Conklin back to the lineup this week against the Detroit Lions after Saturday’s practice squad elevations did not include an offensive lineman.
Unfortunately, that is not the case, as Conklin will miss his third consecutive game while dealing with an elbow injury after the Browns released their gameday inactives for the 1 p.m. contest at Ford Field.
In the category of “not a surprise,” the Browns have apparently soured on cornerback
Cameron Mitchell, as he is a gameday inactive for the second consecutive week after struggling in the Week 2 meeting against the Baltimore Ravens.
Cleveland’s full inactive list includes:
- Quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who will once again serve as the emergency third-string quarterback
- Safety Damontae Kazee
- Cornerback Cameron Mitchell
- Running back Raheim Sanders
- Defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr., who was ruled out of the game on Friday while he continues to recover from a knee injury
- Offensive tackle Thayer Munford Jr.
- Offensive tackle Jack Conklin
Detroit’s full inactive list includes:
- Running back Sione Vaki
- Linebacker Zach Cunningham
- Center Kingsley Eguakun
- Defensive lineman Chris Smith
- Defensive lineman Mekhi Wingo
