On Jalen Brunson’s MVP-level performance against Denver:
“That’s what an MVP candidate does. On a big stage, he showed why he should be mentioned as one of the first guys. If anybody’s
talking about MVP candidates, he should be one of the first ones mentioned. Big, big game by him and the rest of our group.”
On the Mikal Bridges’ late foul review:
“I didn’t see it, so it’s a little tough for me to comment on it. But I think Mikal was boxing out and they went back and reviewed it, so I just gotta roll with it.”
On the team’s resilience in double overtime:
“What a ballgame. Our team just showed a lot of grit, a lot of fight in this win. Just a resilient win by our guys. Our guys just found a way.”
On Mikal Bridges’ durability:
“To have him available every single game has been fantastic. Everybody goes through it. It can be a blessing in disguise to a certain degree because if you’re forced to play other guys, you’re forced to give a lot of guys an opportunity. But it’s good knowing there’s one guy it seems you never have to worry about.”
Jalen Brunson
On closing the game against Denver:
“Just stops, running late, making some free throws and shots toward the run helped us pull away. But it started with our defense, for sure. Our defense, our communication, just sticking together through the ups and downs of the season.”
Mitchell Robinson
On defending Nikola Jokic:
“It felt like a playoff game. We came out here with the right energy and mindset and got the job done.
“Trying to get the job done. He’s a great player, we all know that, and I’m just gonna try my best.”
Mikal Bridges
On the late loose-ball foul:
“Just trying to box out. Leaving it up to the officials to make the call. Just not trying to give him a rebound.”
On persevering through a tough night:
“Felt like it wasn’t going my way on both ends, and just got teammates to encourage me to try and stay with it and do whatever it takes to win.”

On insisting on staying in the game:
“I want to play. It’s a great game, it’s great basketball being played right now on TV, and you know, this is what the fans want. It’s okay, I look like I fought Shakur Stevenson.”
