Bayern Munich looks different this season. Dispatching opponents with ease across all competitions, scoring goals at will, and putting in some resolute, steadfast defensive performances (with the occasional
lapses, but we won’t discuss that today). Right now, this is the club to beat in Europe, and the only club that has won every fixture in all competitions this season. A key reason for that is Bayern’s star striker Harry Kane, who has already notched a staggering 21 goals and 4 assists in just 15 games this season (WE ARE IN OCTOBER!!), a solid full-season stat for any striker. He is the frontrunner for the Ballon d’Or as things stand… yes, we’re already talking about the Ballon d’Or, and the season started just two months ago.
In an interview with Daily Mail Sport (@MailSport) as covered by @iMiaSanMia, Kane was full of admiration for the club and remarked, “Bayern is such a big club. It’s known around Europe every year as one of the best” and also added that he believes they are “one of the favorites to win the Champions League.” With the UCL trophy being the most prestigious trophy in European football, the onus seems to now be on the club to deliver a UCL trophy after a 4 year “drought.”
Yes, Bayern Munich is perennially a top-3 club in the world, and the goal is always to win big ol’ ears, and this season, the club seems to be in an incredible position to do just that.
Moreover, Kane finally feels that he is playing for a club where he can push himself to the highest level. He added, “I’ve wanted to test myself at that level and I’ve loved it on and off the pitch.”
BFW Commentary
This is brilliant news, since it seems like Kane loves Munich and is here to stay, at least for the foreseeable future. Apologies, Spurs fans. He isn’t coming back anytime soon, especially with him finishing this segment with the icing on the cake: “It feels like my second home now. I’m enjoying every moment of it, and hopefully it continues.”
We hope so too, Harry. We hope so too.
