Dak Prescott is coming off one of the best seasons of his career as his 4,552 yards in 2025 were his second-highest, and it was the third consecutive full season he’s played having 10 or fewer interceptions and 30 or more touchdown passes. The NFL is a what have you done for me lately league though, and every year a player’s résumé has to be updated.
The Dallas Cowboys were able to keep George Pickens on the roster to be a duo with CeeDee Lamb, and Ryan Flournoy is poised to take a big leap in his
third season. Practice makes perfect, and that’s what camp is about, fine-tuning things before the regular season. However, Prescott already looks like he’s in mid-season form going into his 11th campaign.
Whether it’s been the deep ball, slants, crossing routes, out routes, or any other route you can think of, Prescott is throwing with accuracy and is placing the ball beautifully. He’s been on point with his top three targets, plus he and tight end Jake Ferguson look to be completely on the same page. Also, he and KaVontae Turpin have connected on some plays as well.
The Cowboys should be a lot better defensively under Christian Parker in 2026, especially with the talent they’ve added during the offseason via signings and the NFL draft. However, there’s still a lot of unknown, and that’s not that case with Prescott and the offense. He has years of continuity with his targets (and one full season with Pickens), and it’s showing out in Oxnard. Make no mistake about it, until further notice, the offense in Dallas is the driving force.
Prescott has missed 25 games since the 2020 season. When healthy, he’s simply one of the best signal-callers in the game, and that won’t change if he’s upright in 2026. Prescott is at the point in his career where he’s totally comfortable and confident in his game, and when he’s on the field, the Cowboys are a playoff contender, every season.
As camp rolls along, expect Prescott to continue looking sharp as the Cowboys’ offense looks to put together another year of high-powered production.
