The men’s Iron Survivor Challenge was given the main event spot at tonight’s (Sat., Dec. 6, 2025) NXT Deadline premium live event in San Antonio, Texas. The five men John Cena chose to compete met up to determine
who would challenge new Champion Oba Femi — who won the title from Ricky Saints earlier in the evening — for the title at “New Year’s Evil” early next year.
The participants, in order of their entrance into the match: Leon Slater, Je’Von Evans, Myles Borne, Dion Lennox, Joe Hendry
Evans scored the first fall, taking Slater down first just in time to greet Borne, who earned the right to choose his spot and picked the middle spot. Lennox was next to score a pin, and just two falls had been awarded by the time Hendry got in to make the match official. He managed to get a pin over Borne to get himself on the board within just a couple minutes.
With just less than five minutes remaining, Slater got a point by pinning Hendry. Not long after, Borne finally got one, pinning Lennox shortly after returning from the penalty box. Lennox then trapped Evans inside the box with the referee. Je’Von climbed his way out but there were only 90 seconds remaining in a match where every man was tied at 1.
The finish was a mad dash, as every guy tried his best to score the deciding fall. In the end, it was Evans who rolled up Borne for the pin with just three seconds on the clock.
Earlier in the night, he promised Ricky Saints he would be winning the title before New Year’s Evil, so we’ll have to see when he gets his shot.
Either way, The Young OG has arrived.
After, Tony D’Angelo made his return to television, attacking Evans and leaving him laid out in the ring while staring up at Femi on the stage. We’ll see what, if anything, that means for the pending title match.
