Jürgen Klopp’s search for a first win as Germany manager will have to wait after Die Mannschaft slumped to a 1-0 loss in the Nations League to Greece in Augsburg. Jonathan Tah said in the post-match interview that the team didn’t have a good game and had it tough.
“It wasn’t an easy game. To be honest, we simply didn’t do enough,” Tah admitted (as captured by X account @iMiaSanMia). “We had a few chances where we could have been dangerous. If we had taken those, perhaps the game would have ended differently.
Greece didn’t always press high, which meant we could have been more dominant on the ball, but we didn’t use that well enough.
“In the end, they made the most of their moments in transition and did that well. They scored from one of them. We certainly shouldn’t lack the courage to play our game. We didn’t create enough space, didn’t threaten the box or the goal, didn’t try our luck from distance, or put a few more crosses into the box.”
Germany and Klopp will look to pick up the pieces against Serbia and Greece away next weekend.
