The Las Vegas Raiders promoted wide receiver Justin Shorter from the practice squad to the 53-man roster on Friday. Let’s take a look at Shorter:
Size:
6-4, 227 pounds.
NFL experience:|
Shorter spent the 2023 season on the Buffalo Bills injured reserve. He was cut by the Bills in August, 2024. He was signed to the Raiders’ practice squad and moved from wide receiver to tight end. He spent 10 games on the Raiders’ active roster. The new regime moved Shorter back to wide receiver this year. He was cut in August and signed to the practice squad.
College:
Shorter went to Penn State. He was drafted in the fifth round in 2023 by the Bills.
How he will fit in with Raiders:
Shorter, 25, was promoted because Amari Cooper suddenly retired Thursday. The Raiders have just five wide receivers, so Shorter should get a chance to play, likely mostly on special teams, early in the season.
