Harry Kane has added another remarkable milestone to an international career that is already loaded with them.
The England captain has moved into seventh place on the all-time international goalscoring list, reaching 89 goals for the Three Lions. Kane is now level with Malaysia legend Mokhtar Dahari and sits within striking distance of another Bayern Munich legend, Robert Lewandowski, who has 92 goals.
Kane is now alongside some of the greatest international goalscorers the sport has ever produced.
The list is topped by Cristiano Ronaldo with 146 goals, followed by Lionel Messi (125), Iran’s Ali Daei (108), India’s Sunil Chhetri (95), Belgium’s Romelu Lukaku (94), and Lewandowski (92).
And Kane isn’t done yet.
At 33 years old, the Bayern Munich striker has already established himself as England’s all-time leading scorer, and his continued international output means the players immediately ahead of him are firmly within reach.
Lukaku is only five goals ahead, Chhetri is six ahead, and Lewandowski is just three ahead.
That makes his climb up the leaderboard particularly compelling. Kane could realistically pass several legends before his England career comes to an end, even if Cristiano Ronaldo’s record remains in another realm entirely.
For Bayern Munich fans, there is another reason to appreciate this milestone. Kane’s goalscoring feats for England place him in the same historical conversation as Lewandowski — and Kane still has plenty of football left to play.
Knowing Harry Kane, he likely already has the next milestone in his sights.
